Beyond bricks: design-driven identities for real estate

Design for real estate is more than just visuals. It’s about creating an identity that helps build a place for residents and tenants to spend lengthy amounts of their time living, achieving their best work, expanding their network, and connecting with the cityscape. When made well, it also enhances the ability for the real estate operator to communicate and connect with their customers.

There’s an art in creating an identity for a real estate property and when carefully considered, it can result in communicating a place that has a soul to it. At N60.design, we’ve been building real estate identities for years, focusing on helping our clients find their new direction. With each commission, we take time to study the location, background history, and ideal destination to create an identity that deeply resonates with potential residents. Building a destination with its own story and appeal.

CASE: Konelabra

Background: a very distinctive historical redbrick property situated in the heart of Helsinki’s city centre at Eerikinkatu32–36.

Originally built in 1933 for the University of Technology, the development of this property was a collaborative effort with Design Agency Fyra, adding an additional layer of creativity and innovation to the project.

Design: an identity which reflects the technology heritage within the building. The name Konelabra references the history, and a representation of connections, molecules and circuits. People coming together.

Details: illustrations and patterns derived from the architecture, and a modern colour palette which takes reference from the interior architecture work.

In the world of real estate, good design is about making places where people can live their best lives, work well, and connect with others and the city around them. Good design also helps real estate operators communicate and add value to their customers.

At N60.design, we’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of design in real estate to craft spaces that resonate deeply with those who use and visit them. Interested in elevating your spatial project with contemporary design solutions? Let’s talk.
